Kerrie Update for April 25, 2014

We are happy to report that Kerrie’s immune system and vital signs continue to show improvement.  This next phase of her reovery will be more gradual as she recovers neurologically.  Her doctors have been pleased with the improvement she has shown over the last few days as she has been slightly more responsive.

This evening she was opening her eyes and gesturing more than at any time during the last two weeks.  She is breathing more on her own and the medical team was able to change her breathing support mechanism to a tracheal tube, which is a positive step.  Her ability to recieve nutrition and digest it has improved in recent days.  These are all positive signs and we remain hopeful and patient as she gradually recovers.

As noted previously we know that her recovery may take weeks but we remain cautiously optimistic that she will be able to fully recover.

Thank you again for all your wonderful support, generosity, positive thoughts and prayers.  As Glenn mentioned in his recent thank you note, we continue to be awestruck and grateful for everything you have done and continue to do.  The extraordinary love you have shown has helped overcome the pain and suffering of the past few weeks.
